Grange School news

We are an 11-16 mixed comprehensive school in the centre of Oldham with the vast majority of our pupils coming from the Coldhurst and Westwood wards.

Our school was designated a Visual Arts College in 2002 and we have made significant improvements over the past few years to the extent that we are the most improved school in Oldham.

A hard working dedicated and professional workforce ensures that all pupils are given every opportunity to reach their maximum potential.

Our recent achievements make impressive reading.

We were named by the DfES as the 4th most improved school in the country for progress over the last 3 years (2002-2005) and we were named the 6th best school in the country based on the Value Added measure from Key Stage 2 to Key Stage 4.

We were also named the best Visual Arts College in the country by the Specialist Schools and Academies Trust based on the Value Added measure Key Stage 2 to Key Stage 4 and we were invited to become members of the Specialist Schools’ Trusts’ Most Value Added Club and Most Improved Club for the third year in a row.

We are the first secondary school in Oldham to achieve the Basic Skills Quality Mark.

We invest heavily in our staff and we are an Investor in People school.
