Cleaning the corridors of Royton and Crompton may seem like a million miles away from making sure a gallery that houses artwork valued at millions of pounds is spot less.
But the unlikely connection has helped inspire a group of school children to produce a displaythat is worthy of inclusion i Gallery Oldham.

Youngsters from Royton & Crompton and Grange School joined together to produce work along with many other community groups and organisations featured in the Advertiser backed ' Oldham Today and Tomorrow ' exhibition on show at gallery oldham.

However their work may never have seen the light of day had it not been for the cleaning company who makes sure the school is spic and span. The organisation also hold the contract for the Tate Gallery in London and invited a group of pupils to take a field trip and marvel at some of the best known pieces of modern art in existence today.

Buoyed by what they had seen, the youngsters returned to the town and decided to take their enthusiasm onto the next level.

The result is a banner capturing everything from sports through to street fashion and cars
