Teacher Training
Grange school has long established links with the Initial Teacher Training (ITT) programmes run at Manchester Metropolitan University .
We have trainee teachers in school in all phases of their school based experience from observation stage through to major teaching placements block A and Block B.
We feel it is a very important role that not only benefits the students by giving them experience in such a diverse and successful school as ours, but also is valuable for established teachers, keeping them up to date with new developments in teaching practise.
The links with MMU are especially strong in the Art Department where we also run annual training sessions for the Art and Design PGCE students in our Graphic Media suites. These sessions are devised and led by Elaine Cooke, Emma Crawley and Caroline McManus.
This year the whole cohort came for a series of sessions learning about how ICT can be used in the subject of Art and design. They covered Adobe Photoshop, digital photography, use of interactive whiteboards, digital sketchbooks, creating visual resources and creating schemes of work that incorporate ICT.
