Alifa Begum "Who am I?"
A peom that won first prize in a National competition written by from grange
who am I ?
Through my eyes I see things passing by,
children, teachers, students. They go on.
Life goes on.
Once your here, the next your gone.
Soon I'll be gone too.
People just look and smirk, 'It's only a piece of work'
but I'm more than that.
I'm vibrant and i'm full of excitment.
My hands reach out in all directions trying to break free.
I'm trapped inside.
This frame is my cage.
What am I ?
I am many different things.
I'm a flower blossoming, I'm energy flowing,
I'm swirls twirling.
Yet I have feelings.
I'm hung up here for everyone to see,
my eyes don't decieve me.
I know what I am.
I'm nothing to you but everything to me.
I am my own person, I hold my own fate in my hands.
With a click of my fingers, I see to it that my duty is done.
I'm dedicated and ready.
Even after everyone's gone.
I am no stranger to you, you've known me all your life.
Keeping up pretences isn't too hard for you,
I maybe similar in some ways, but I certainly don't share you views.
I'm not a mole and a cheat.
I make my own way through life.
Every moment of every day information about you I seek,
I act and am just like you....
But still, I'm unique.
