My desert plant
Mamun Miah 9.1 - Alienana
This plant I have made is called the ‘Alienana’ and has a long life cycle, which means it will stay standing tall whilst the other plants die. This is really suited to the conditions of the desert life.
The special features about my plant is that it can store a lot of water in its stems where there are four storage tanks which are securely covered by thick bark so that there is no water lost. Another special feature about this plant is that it grows really colourful flowers which will help it attract insects for pollination. The plant also has really big and stretchy roots to search for water far away and every plant in the desert needs as much water as they can get because it is really hot and it hardly ever rains. The special thing about my plant is that even the smallest roots can stretch up to around 50 metres and the longest roots could stretch up to more than 100 metres to help it get water.
